The Alta Via dei Parchi is an itinerary to be covered on foot along the Apennines between Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Marche even for single stages or by trekking for two or more days thanks to the possibility of reaching the great part of the access points to the itinerary by public transport.
The itinerary, divided into 27 stages, starts from Berceto, near the Cisa Pass in the Province of Parma, and reaches the Verna cliff, stretching over the Casentino and then reaching the hermitage on Monte Carpegna, in the Sasso Simone Park and Simoncello, across the Apennines between Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and the Marche, touching as many as 10 provinces (Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena, Rimini, Lucca, Massa Carrara and Pesaro-Urbino ): 500 kilometers of climbs and descents that combine two national parks, five regional parks and one interregional.
The Emilia-Romagna Region, with the Alta Via and the Cycle Paths of the Parks, promotes the conservation of nature and the enhancement of the entire regional system of protected areas also with the development of sustainable tourism.
