The “Il Poggiolo” Visitor Center is located in the heart of the Monte Sole Historical Park and houses the Don Giuseppe Dossetti educational hall. It is located near S. Martino in the park’s Memorial area, at an altitude of 410 m, and it is the starting point of the various field trips within the park.
The center provides information on the history and the environment of the park’s protected area. Amenities include restrooms, coffee shop, restaurant, hotel, a children’s play area and ample parking. The tables outside may be used free of charge by visitors with packed lunches. On Saturdays and Sundays seats must be reserved in advance; during the week they are freely accessible to all.
The center can be reached by car and bus (with limited seating capacity). It is not served by public transport. The Pian di Venola railway station is about 5 km away.
The Visitor Center provides information (publications, free brochures and maps) on the park’s territory).
