The itinerary develops on the western border of the Park, along the top of the Cavone glacial circle. It crosses the high-altitude Apennine environments and is dedicated to the golden eagle which finds its natural habitat here. The route starts from the Baita del Sole Refuge, tackling the uphill stretch along the final part of the Riva Mountains, to reach the summit of Mount Spigolino; from here it remains almost at high altitude up to the Strofinatoio Pass, touching Lake Scaffaiolo and the refuge of the same name. Through the vaccine groves that characterize the whole area, we descend to the Sasseto Refuge and then to the forest track that easily takes us back to the starting point.
