The agricultural holdings operating in the Park cover a total surface area of over 400 hectares: that is, almost the half of the territory of the Protected Area. Out of them, the 90% is cultivated with integrated control methods or with organic farming. Agriculture is not only practiced in the agricultural holdings, but also in the several estates cultivated by the inhabitants with family consumption purposes.
The agricultural holding typologies are different: from small and family-run holdings to historical and big holdings. Some agricultural holdings have chosen to start holiday farm activities, giving birth to real economically sustainable agricultural holding systems. The various holding experiences and the many fields of expertise of the farmers are joined by a great respect for the preservation of nature and by the awareness to be among the main authors of the social and economic development of the territory.
