The copses, thickets and scrubland covering the mountain slopes are home to many small passerine species, including the common nightingale, Eurasian blackcap, Eurasian wren, European robin, common blackbird, common chaffinch and common chiffchaff.
A clear sign of the presence of the great spotted woodpecker and the European green woodpecker are the round nest holes they excavate in the tree trunks of many aging poplars.
