Riserva Naturale del Contrafforte Pliocenico

Located some 20 kilometers from Bologna, this is the region's largest nature reserve.
It serves to protect the majestic rock front that extends for about 15 kilometers across the Reno, Setta, Savena, Zena and Idice valleys, culminating at the spectacular slopes of Monte Adone, Rocca di Badolo, Monte Rosso and, just outside the protected area, Monte delle Formiche.
