The loop covered during the excursion, which involves little more than half a day’s walk, is a useful first approach to the Park area. The top of the mountain is in fact a valid observation point to get closer to the shapes of the territory. The excursion starts from the town of Pianaccio going up along the Bagnadori ditch inside the coniferous and broad-leaved forests to the refuge of the same name and from here, in short, to the pass; the climb continues in the woods to go out onto the prairies near the top of Monte Grande. Then begins the long downhill stretch that leads, first to the Bocca delle Tese, then to the rural nucleus of Fiammineda from which you return to Pianaccio along a well-preserved mule track.
